As we enter into our third week of the 2019 Build Season we have started building our mechanisms and initiated our pneumatics system. All sub-teams are busy, some preparing presentations and a business plan and others working on coding and then the mechanical team working on the various mechanisms.
The Irrational Engineers are busy finishing up the chassis and drivetrain with pneumatic wheels and then starting the building of the mechanisms for the top of the robot. We are learning to use tools and to design the extendable arm. The Presentation Team is busy prepping for the annual Maryland Space Business Roundtable (MSBR) grant request presentation. They are learning about oral presentation techniques and learning their parts.
Team 6239 has finalized their logo, started using a project management system, and completed the MSBR powerpoint presentation. Team 6239's controls and programing team created outlines for electrical components, the basic implementations for wiring within the robot, and reactivated the 2017 robot for training with the new students. Finally, the mechanical team finished the robots base frame, attached wheels and motors, and began to develop a hatch mechanism for game play. Overall week two was a productive and beneficial week the Irrational Engineers
